This Privacy Policy describes how we collect and use your personally identifiable information at the Orbitz for Business website (Site) and your third party accounts that you permit us access to. This policy does not apply to information we may collect from you in other ways or at other locations, such as at other websites owned by us or our parents or affiliates (like Orbitz.com), offline, or through emails that you may send to us. The Orbitz for Business website is accessible only to individuals whose organizations have elected to have us offer the Orbitz for Business services to them. The Site is not intended for, nor is it accessible to, the general public.
BY SUBMITTING PERSONAL INFORMATION TO US, AND/OR BY USING OUR SITE OR PERMITTING US ACCESS TO YOUR THIRD PARTY ACCOUNTS, YOU AGREE THAT WE MAY COLLECT, USE AND DISCLOSE SUCH PERSONAL INFORMATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS PRIVACY POLICY AND AS PERMITTED OR REQUIRED BY LAW. If you do not agree with these terms, do not provide any personal information to us. If you refuse or withdraw your consent, or if you choose not to provide us with any required personal information, we may not be able to provide you with products or services offered on our Site.
When you first register as a member, we require that you provide us with limited contact information, including your name, email address, and organization's name. If you consented to have your organization share your personal travel information with us, we will match the limited information you provide with the travel profile you may have provided your organization. If you did not give consent directly to your organization, then at the time you register we may ask for your consent to obtain from your organization your full travel profile. Included in that profile will be more detailed personal information that you provided to your organization, such as your address, frequent flyer numbers, and credit card numbers for travel bookings. Your consent for your organization to share your travel profile with us may be necessary for you to become a member of this Site. At the time your register, you will also need to choose a password, which will be required to gain access our Site. We might also request your home zip code.
If you book Products or Services for other travelers using your Member ID and password, or if you provide us with contact information of a third party for OrbitzTLC Alerts, you must make sure that you have the right to do so. By providing the personal information of another traveler, you represent that you have all necessary authority and/or have obtained all necessary consents from such person to enable us to collect, use and disclose his or her personal information as set forth in this Privacy Policy.
During your use of our Site, we may from time to time ask you to provide other information, for example, gender, activities and lifestyle preferences, preferred destinations, seat selection or meal request preferences, details about your participation in loyalty or awards programs and applicable membership numbers, or other ticketing options. From time to time, we may also invite you to participate in an optional survey or a focus group. When you book products or services, such as booking a flight or hotel, we will require that you provide payment or other necessary information. This includes, for example, billing information, driver information, or other information as required by a third party product or service provider (hotel or airline, for example).
We may also offer you the option of permitting us access to your third party accounts, such as your TripIt account. We may view and use any information stored in such third party accounts in accordance with this policy.
Minors (as defined under the laws of their jurisdiction or residence) are not eligible to register for, use, or book the products or services available on our Site. Since this Site is only accessible to corporate organizations, we do not believe we are collecting information from minors, nor do we knowingly collect information from any minor, and will not use information if we discover that it has been provided by a minor.
We use personal information in order to provide and enhance the products or services offered on our Site:
- To record your travel preferences, make reservations or acquire travel insurance on your behalf, communicate with you about your travel plans, issue invoices, administer accounts, collect and process payments, or process and track your transactions;
- To inform you of new features on our Site, provide other information that may be of interest to you, personalize the service we provide to you, tailor your experience at our Site to your interests or make more appropriate travel recommendations;
- To send you e-mails, e-newsletters, personalized offers via direct messaging or other communications about our services, if you have subscribed to receive this information (such as our Air-OrbitzTLC Alerts service);
- To manage our Site, diagnose technical problems, improve content, allocate the resources of our systems so that your experience with our Site is as efficient as possible, and audit compliance with our policies and contractual obligations;
- To send you information about our and our affiliates' and business partners' products and services and other information and materials that may be of interest to you, including, if you have granted us permission, to develop, enhance, market, sell or provide our products or services or those of companies with which we have a commercial relationship;
- To send your organization information about your use or non-use of the Site, which we may obtain from your third party accounts that you permit us access to;
- To evaluate credit standing and to match credit bureau or credit reporting agency information; to investigate, detect and protect Orbitz for Business and other third parties against error, negligence, breach of contract, fraud, theft and other illegal activities; In performing these evaluations, personal information provided by you may be disclosed to a registered credit agency which may keep a record of that information.
- To effect a corporate transaction, in connection with the sale, merger, spin-off, or other corporate reorganization of our corporation, where the information is provided to the new controlling entity in regular course of business;
- As permitted by, and to comply with, any legal or regulatory requirements or provisions or for any other purpose to which you consent.
We use information collected through cookies, pixel tags, or other passive tracking mechanisms to better understand how our Site is navigated, how many visitors arrive at specific pages, the length and frequency of stays at our Site, the variety of searches of our Site's database, the types of browsers and computer operating systems used by our visitors and the Internet Protocol addresses from which visitors connect to our Site. We also use this information to improve our Site content and ease of use, to personalize and improve your individual viewing experiences on our Site, and provide information that may be of interest to you. This helps us understand the effectiveness of communications we send. We do not use this information for any other purpose.
We aggregate certain information to describe our user base to current or potential partners so they understand general market needs and preferences. We aggregate, for example, information provided to us by participants of surveys or focus groups. By aggregating the information, we remove any personally identifiable information we may have or may have been provided.
If you, or someone acting on your behalf, book(s) products or services on this Site or if you utilize any third party loyalty or rewards points to redeem products or services on this Site, we will provide your organization, and/or such third party loyalty or rewards redemption program provider with the details of your booking, which details will include your personal information. In addition, we may provide your organization information about your use or non-use of the Site, which we may obtain from your third party accounts that you permit us access to. From time to time, we may also disclose your personal information:
- To those travel service providers with which you make arrangements through our Site so that they can complete your request, for example, airlines, car rental, hotel, ground transportation, theater, attraction, or travel insurance.
- To organizations that perform services for or on behalf of Orbitz for Business we provide information they need to perform services for us, if they agree to use the information only for providing services and in accordance with this policy. These services including customer service, ticket delivery, item shipment, processing credit cards, research, marketing, data processing, to measure the use of our Site, or facilitating usage by a Visitor. Some service providers may be located in other countries.
- We may collaborate with other companies to offer you additional products or services and will share information that is necessary for these other companies to provide any such products or services that you have requested. This policy will not cover their use of your personal information. We encourage you to read a company's privacy policy before requesting any of its products or services.
- We may also disclose your information to our affiliates and non-affiliated business partners for their use both on our behalf and for their own business purposes. For example, our affiliates and business partners may use such information to send you information about their products, services, other information, and materials that may be of interest to you.
- To protect our Site and our rights under our Terms and Conditions of Use , to protect ourselves and third parties against liability or prevent fraudulent activity; or where it is necessary to permit us to pursue available remedies or limit any damages that we may sustain, to effect a corporate transaction, in connection with the sale, merger, spin-off, or other corporate reorganization of our corporation, where the information is provided to the new controlling entity in regular course of business.
- Where the information is public
- To our insurers, regulatory agencies, to comply with a subpoena, warrant or court (or similar) order (if we such a request, we will attempt to contact you about it, if permitted by law, via the e-mail address you provided during registration, before we respond to that request), or if we believe in good faith that a law, regulation, rule or guideline requires it, including if for reasons of national security (in response to such request, Orbitz for Business or its providers will give access to all the information you provide at the time of making your reservation to the applicable government agencies of the countries to or from which you are traveling).
- To a person who needs the information because of an emergency that threatens the life, health, or security of an identifiable person or group, or where necessary to collect monies owing to us.
We combine your personal information obtained at the Site in what we call "My Stuff", which consists of "My Trips" and "My Account". My Trips contains information about your current, canceled, or past trips. My Account contains your name, e-mail address, password, and departure city from which you usually travel, and other information such as your travel preferences, and all other information that you have elected to provide us, such as gender, favorite activities and lifestyle preferences, and favorite destinations, and a listing of any e-mails, e-newsletters or other communications we offer to send, and whether or not you have elected to receive them. In your My Stuff folder is also the personal information of individuals for whom you have made reservations or to whom we have sent OrbitzTLC Alerts on your behalf.
We will retain your personal information obtained at the Site in our databases as long as necessary for us to respond to your specific request and to carry out the purposes described herein. After that time, we may retain certain information in order to respond to any issues that may arise later. For example, we may need or be required to retain information to allow you to obtain credit for a cancelled trip; to prevent fraudulent activity; to protect ourselves against liability, permit us to pursue available remedies or limit any damages that we may sustain; or if we believe in good faith that a law, regulation, rule or guideline requires it. Your personal information will be stored in secured locations, and on servers controlled by Orbitz for Business, located either at our offices, or at the offices of our service providers.
Orbitz for Business employs physical, administrative and technical safeguards to help protect the confidentiality and integrity of personal information and to reduce the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorized access disclosure or modification of personal information, including use of encryption software for transition of credit card information. When personal information is sent to our service providers, we require, in our contracts with them, that they protect all personal information in a manner consistent with the principles articulated in this Privacy Policy.
Protect Yourself! If you choose to contact Orbitz for Business through the Site, you should be aware that any information transmitted electronically via the World Wide Web might not be secure. Orbitz for Business assumes no liability for the loss of any information that you transmit to us via the World Wide Web. We do not and will not, at any time, request your credit card information, Member ID, login password, or national identification numbers in a non-secure or unsolicited e-mail or telephone communication. For more information about the practice known as "phishing," and to learn how to protect yourself in online transactions, you may want to visit the Federal Trade Commission at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/alerts/phishingalrt.htm.
We endeavor to ensure that personal information is as accurate, complete, and current as necessary for the purposes for which we use that information. We encourage you to visit your My Stuff folder to review your personal information. You can access and update, correct or modify your personal information in My Stuff. You can also do so by contacting us as indicated in Contact Information. If you request that we remove all of the personal information or travel records stored in My Stuff, we will promptly do so, to the extent possible. Once required personal information is removed from My Stuff, however, you will not be able to use many of the services available on our Site to Members, unless you re-register. Please remember that we may not be able to honor your request if we are legally obligated to retain that information, or for other reasons, as described in our Retention and Storage policy.
As part of the registration process, or later on during your use of the Site, we may give you the ability to receive via e-mail or direct messaging information about our products and services, updates to our Site, customized advertisements and promotions that are targeted to your specific interest, such as flight specials and other travel opportunities available on our Site or sponsored by our travel service providers. We send this information directly ourselves, or via third party service providers. If at the time you are notified of these services you do not follow the directions to opt-out of receiving these communications, we will send them to you. At any time, you may change which of the communications you wish to receive by changing your preferences in your My Stuff folder. In addition, in our e-mails and other communications, we will include instructions on how to unsubscribe and inform us of preferences if you decide you do not want to receive any future marketing or promotional e-mails from us.
For your convenience, our Site provides links to other sites. When you click on one of these links, you are leaving our Site and entering another site. We are not responsible for such third party sites. You should carefully review the privacy statements of any other sites you visit, because those privacy statements will apply to your visit to such other sites.
We may change or supplement this Privacy Policy from time to time. We may also undergo a change of ownership. We will post an appropriate notice of changes to the Privacy Policy and changes or ownership on our Site. Privacy Policy changes will apply to the information collected from the date we post the revised Privacy Policy to the Site, as well as to existing information held by us.
If we decide to change this policy in a material way, we will obtain the necessary consents required under applicable privacy laws if we seek to collect, use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those to which consent has been obtained, unless otherwise required or permitted by law. If any proposed change is unacceptable to you, you may request that we remove your personal information (and/or that of other individuals for whom you made travel reservations or who have received your OrbitzTLC Alerts) from our records, as described in How to access, modify or delete your personal information.

TRUSTe is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to build users' trust and confidence in the Internet by promoting the use of fair information practices. Because Orbitz for Business wants to demonstrate its commitment to privacy, it has agreed to disclose its information practices and have its privacy practices reviewed for compliance by TRUSTe. If you have questions or concerns regarding Orbitz for Business privacy practices, you should first contact the Orbitz for Business Chief Privacy Officer. If you do not receive acknowledgment of your inquiry or your inquiry has not been satisfactorily addressed, you should then contact TRUSTe (http://www.truste.com). TRUSTe will then serve as a liaison with Orbitz for Business to resolve your concerns.
